Our neighbour Michelle Buckner, known by many of us as a force for positive social change in our neighbourhood and city, has been recognized by the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario with an award for social activism for her work to support breastfeeding mothers. The “Breastfeeding Buddies” programme that she founded provides a support network for mothers who might lack family and social support.
