Celebrating supported employment at the Library of Things

Have you been to KW Library of Things lately? It’s right in the middle of our midtown Mount Hope neighbourhood at 91 Moore Ave, co-habitating with Extend-A-Family Waterloo Region.

Drop by this Saturday, April 27th between 10 – 11am to celebrate the grant recently received for a supported employment project. This grant has allowed the Library to hire a job development coordinator and provides 4-month paid placements for people facing barriers to employment. The goal is share paid work experience and work with individuals on their further employment goals.

Come meet Beth Weinberg, the program coordinator, meet some of the Practicum Librarians who are already into their placements and meet some of the supporters of the project from Ontario Trillium Foundation, local dignitaries and Extend-A-Family.

Come eat cake on a Saturday morning! Of course, you can also sign up for a membership too… a little icing on your signature won’t hurt. Membership is $40/year (payment by cash or cheque).
