There are plans to re-develop the corner of King/Pine Street across from Grand River Hospital (on what is basically an empty parking lot). The development requires rezoning approval. The proposed building is 26 floors primarily residential with commercial on the main floor.
CANTIRO, the current owners of 890-900 King Street West, would like to invite you to a Neighbourhood
Information Meeting to discuss the proposed redevelopment of this Brownfield site located at the
northwest corner of King Street West and Pine Street. The property is located directly across from the
Grand River Hospital ION Station.
Meeting Date: Wednesday, July 28, 2021
Time: 7:00pm to 8:30pm
Login time: Please log in 5-10 minutes before the meeting to ensure you are set up before
7:00 pm
RSVP: by email to Kate Wills by Tuesday, July 27 at kwills@mhbcplan.com and a link to
the Zoom meeting will be provided the day of the meeting.

The Owners are proposing a 25 storey, mixed use development comprised of ground floor commercial uses with residential units above. Ground floor uses may include a restaurant or coffee shop. The development is proposed as purpose built rental building which will be maintained and operated by CANTIRO. Prior to the redevelopment of the site, CANTIRO will be removing all existing contamination from the property.
Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment applications are required to permit components of the proposed development. The applications have been recently circulated by the City of Kitchener.
CANTIRO believes in early community engagement and would like meet with the neighbourhood to present the proposed development plans for this site; to hear your feedback; and to respond to your questions.
If you would like to be added to the City’s mailing list for future updates relating to this project please
