Midtown’s First Neighbourhood Street Party a Success!

On Sat Aug 27th, neighbours from all over KW’s Midtown descended onto Dekay Street for the first ever Midtown Neighbourhood Street Party (formerly known as the Dekay Street Party). The festivities got under way at 4pm and by 6pm the lower part of Dekay Street was crowded with folks mingling and enjoying the delicious food, the rain didn’t seem to dampen people’s lively spirits. There was no shortage of sidewalk chalk and games for kids and adults alike (The infamous “Find a neighbour Who….” scavenger hunt is always a hit!). The Midtown Neighbourhood survey was made available and lots of folks indicated their desire to fill it out by the Aug 31st deadline via the newly created Midtown Website (www.midtownkw.ca) in hopes that they might be the lucky winner of the FREE brewery tour from Together We’re Bitter Co-operative Brewing in Kitchener. Browse the pictures below to check out the successful event. Can you spot yourself? Or maybe a neighbour you met for the first time on Sat?
