Neighbourhood Walking Tour: Sunday October 23 @ 2pm

Take a 90 minute tour with your neighbours to learn more about PARTS for Midtown…… not just the sum of the PARTS… but the whole PARTS!

PARTS stands for Planning Around Rapid Transit Stations. It is an urban planning process initiated by the City of Kitchener and will create a plan for development around the Midtown LRT stop in our neighbourhood – the Grand River Hospital stop. The planning process is at a point where it needs more input from residents and neighbours by October 28, 2016.

This walk will help you better understand PARTS, the suggestions needing your feedback and the next steps in the process.

WHEN: Sunday October 23, 2016

2:00 – 3:30 pm (rain or shine)

WHERE: Meet at the back of the parking lot behind Central Fresh Market (Linwood Avenue)

LED BY: Your neighbours – Trent Bauman, Bill Bulmer, Dawn Parker and Ted Parkinson

Similar to a Jane’s Walk, this informal walk & talk will help to give a 3-D, on the street perspective of some of the streets and areas that could be up for redevelopment in the years ahead. We will look at a possible extension of Braun Street and Glasgow Street, access options to the KCI playing fields and several density and development options for along the King Street corridor.

Now is our time to shape the future of our neighbourhood.

If you want to do some pre-preparation, take a look at the Midtown PARTS website (http://www.kitchener.ca/en/livinginkitchener/PARTS-Midtown-Station-Study-Area-Plan.asp) to get a head start on your ideas and you can see large format maps here
