You may remember chatting with neighbours about the giant chalkboard at the WALES potluck in February, or you may have filled out the survey back in January. Well, we have received the Neighbourhood Matching Fund Grant from the City of Kitchener and United Way, and we are all set to assemble three more big chalkboards and distribute them around the neighbourhood!
So far, we’ve prepped and painted the chalkboards, purchased all the supplies, and pre-cut the materials. On Saturday, June 17th, please help us assemble the chalkboards at Duke St. Park at 1pm. Please wear closed toe shoes, sun screen and a hat. If you have them, bring along a cordless drill, bits, and other cool hand tools.
The rain date for the build is June 18th – check back to this site if it’s drizzly and you’re unsure if it will be postponed. If you’re not free on the 17th but want to get involved, you can fill out the survey here or email midtownkw@gmail.com.
