Our neighbour, Extend-A-Family Waterloo Region (EAFWR) has a LOT of amazing programs, including one called FamilyHome where an adult with a disability has the opportunity to live with a family and to share life together.
Some adults have the goal of living semi-independently and EAFWR helps them do that through FamilyHome. EAFWR is currently looking for a unique supported living opportunity for a young woman wanting to live semi-independently in her own apartment. This person likes spending time in our Mount Hope neighbourhood and would love to be more a part of the neighbourhood. If you, or anyone you know, has a basement apartment, or separate unit, as well as interest in providing support, please contact Terral McBay at terral@eafwr.on.ca or 519-741-0190 Ext. 235 for more information.
Monthly rent, as well as a financial reimbursement for support would be included.
