Say that five times, fast.
We are increasingly being encouraged to treat our properties as sponges to help soak up water. Adding plants, trees and rain gardens in our yards offers added benefits by beautifying our neighbourhood with flowers and greenery. But what about those ‘hard’ parts of our property where we park our vehicles or entertain guests in the summer?
One of the ways to keep the advantages of driveways, patios and pathways but still reduce runoff is by using permeable pavement. As part of the RAIN Smart Neighbourhoods Project, Reep Green Solutions is hosting a workshop that will help to make sense of the permeable options available so that you can make an informed choice.
Your Options for Permeable Driveways, Patios and Paths
Date & Time: Saturday May 5, 1:30-2:30 pm
Location: Reep House for Sustainable Living, 20 Mill Street, Kitchener
Topics covered include:
- What is the difference between the various permeable technologies on the market?
- What are the pros and cons of each?
- When is using permeable the right (and wrong) option for your project?
- How to choose a contractor? What questions should I ask to make sure they are qualified to do the work?
For residents of Mount Hope attendance for the workshop is FREE. Contact Reep Green Solutions at rain@reepgreen.ca and let them know your address to obtain the promotional code that will allow you to register free of charge.
