We are so lucky to have this exciting community venture and resource located right in the middle of our neighbourhood! Hosted as a project in partnership with Extend-a-Family Waterloo Region, the KW Library of Things is now open for business. Current hours: every Saturday morning, 9am – 1pm at 91 Moore Ave.
By business, they mean memberships and the borrowing of items you use infrequently in your home and garden. Some examples of items you can borrow – small & big – include:
- tile saw
- hedge trimmer
- orbital sander
- router
- skill saw
- miter saw
- adhesive spreaders
- drywall putty knives
- leaf mulcher
- power juicer
- pasta maker
- bread maker
- shovels
- post hole digger
- canning equipment
- food dehydrator
- electric wok
You get the idea… and you can find the whole inventory online through the KW Library of Things website – www.kwlot.ca. To date, they have over 325 items in the inventory, all received through donations. Check out the wish list on their home page – chances are you have something they need to help the inventory grow. Items must be in very good working condition with safety features intact (or easily fixed with repair or parts).
I see bulbs pushing their cheery heads through the soil – plenty of garden equipment at the LoT!
