More specifically, our neighbourhood chalkboards, Midtown Messages, has been included in the People’s Choice Award as part of Kitchener’s Great Places Awards program. Vote to win!
But, that’s not all…. They are also a finalist for the Placemaking category!
A neighbour in our community nominated the chalkboards because they felt “it makes me feel like my neighbourhood is a community and working together to bring us together.”
Kitchener’s Great Places Awards recognize outstanding projects that contribute making Kitchener a great place to live, work and play.
Voting is now open until October 15th through www.kitchener.ca/peopleschoice. There will also be opportunities for voting in person at the 6th Floor of City Hall and at various engagement events that the community may attend. Please help us spread the word!

Kitchener’s Great Places Awards ceremony and reception will be held on the evening of Tuesday, November 19, 2019. We know that a nomination doesn’t guarantee an award, but hopefully some of you will be available to attend and be part of the recognition for neighbourhood initiatives by our neighbours and our city.
