The KW Library of Things, which lives in our midtown Mount Hope neighbourhood, is hosting it’s first Repair Cafe. Run by some awesome repair volunteers and fabric and sewing studio Spool & Spindle, don’t throw away this chance to fix that thing you love that’s been sitting in the cupboard or closet.
Saturday September 28, 2019
9:15 am – 1:00 pm
Learning to repair is priceless, but due to our talented volunteers’ big hearts, this event is free. However, sign up is required – via Eventbrite. Not able to make it this time around? Please share the Facebook event with friends and neighbours who might be interested.
Sign up for one or more of the following repair options available:
-
Jewelry – ring troubles? Broken clasp? Beads gone bad? Bring in your jewelry pieces for some TLC
-
Small household appliance and electronic items: 120V, and small enough that you can carry it
-
Clothes repair – holey sweaters and other knits, torn trousers or ripped jeans, jackets needing patches…whatever it is, bring it clean.
We’ll also have a DIY repair station to learn basic skills like sewing on a button, using food-safe glue, and more.
