Congratulations to the City of Kitchener Planning Department for responding to neighbourhood feedback on the challenges facing residents wanting to engage in city-led planning processes. Planning is a complex topic and hopefully these sessions will make it easier for all of us to understand what is happening in our neighbourhood.
“Planning 101” will be offered online:
Monday, December 1st from 7 pm to 9 pm. This is your opportunity to understand more about the planning process and give additional feedback to City Staff.
You must pre-register to attend by sending an email to Dayna Edwards Dayna.Edwards@kitchener.ca, the senior planner at the City hosting this online learning session.

By taking ‘Planning 101’ you can expect to gain more of an understanding about how the city is growing. You will learn about the planning process in Kitchener and may gain confidence and feel empowered as a citizen participating in the planning process.
Some of the topics that will be covered in this session include:
- A background on current factors that are shaping how Kitchener is growing,
- an overview of key planning legislation,
- an introduction to different types of development processes, and
- tangible ways about how to be involved in the development process.
This is a great way for the neighbours in Midtown KW to understand how planning decisions are made and to learn where / how we can engage in the process.
