December 21 is Lantern Night: See you in the darkness, with light

GUEST POST: from Sarah, Julian, Johanna and Mira

Hi neighbours and friends,
It’s been about 10 years now that we’ve held tiny and sometimes large lantern walks in our neighbourhood, joined by many of you.

Winter solstice is today, Monday December 21, and we’ve been distracted and tired out, but we wanted to mark it anyway. So, we decided to call Monday December 21 as Lantern Night and go for a walk with our flashlights and candles. We thought we’d also invite neighbours and friends to go for your own walk on your favourite streets or park. We like the idea of knowing you’re out there somewhere too, walking with lights in hand.

1) Find a candle, a flashlight, a lantern, or a glow stick
2) Head out for a distanced lantern-lit walk on Dec 21 anytime after sunset
3) Bring warmth to the longest night of the year!
