Mark your calendar for a Community Planting Day at Guelph Street Park.
Saturday June 10
10am – 2:00 pm
This spring, June 10, Wisahkotewinowak and a group of Mount Hope neighbours are hosting the 2nd of 3 planting days in Guelph Street Garden Park (Uniroyal Goodrich Park).
Last spring, volunteers helped put in a 50ft wild flower garden bed. Now we are planting gooseberry bushes, native trees, wild onion and so much more! For a refresher on the Expanding Our Relations: Indigenous Placemaking in the Park initiative, you can read more here: https://midtownkw.ca/2021/09/30/love-my-hood-grant-received-for-expanding-our-relations-indigenous-placemaking-in-the-park/
Please let Elanor, Kim & crew know you’re coming by registering here:
Things to bring: Bring wheelbarrows, shovels, and work gloves.
A lunch of bagels, toppings + fruit will be shared in the middle of the planting day. Please bring your own plate + cutlery + cups/water bottles to join in. (There will be vegetarian options, but we are unable to accommodate other dietary restrictions)
