It’s a hot, hot summer and that means it’s time for a tall cool glass of lemonade! Have a glass with your neighbours at the Midtown Meet Up!
Where: Spurline Trail, Ferdinand St entrance + three additional neighbourhood locations
When: Saturday August 13, 2016, 11am – 3pm
Why: Because your neighbours want to bring this public space to life by showing how we turn an everyday place into a destination and gathering space. There are lots of little corners in the neighbourhood and we can bring them to life with creative reimagining and reinventing.
Oh, and…. because your neighbours scored a small grant issued for the Placemaking Challenge by the City of Kitchener’s Neighbourhood Strategy team! This little grant was a great motivator for making something happen in our neighbourhood. When placemaking is done well, it helps to strengthen the connections people feel for the places and spaces in their neighbourhood.

On August 13, there are 8 placemaking challenge events going on around Kitchener – you can find more details about all of them here, on Facebook.
