A soggy Midtown Meetup

How is it that we can have sunny weekends, week after week, until we have plans to host a lemonade stand?!?! After the hard work of neighbours to secure a Placemaking Challenge grant from the City of Kitchener, the heavy rains tried to dampen the Midtown Meetup.

We still had a few breaks in the rain to hand out some lemonade and entice our neighbours to complete a 6 question survey – with the chance of winning a free tour at Together We’re Bitter Brewing Cooperative (TWB) – generously donated by neighbours Lindsay & Culum who are workers/co-owners at TWB.

Mayor Berry Vrbanovic & several City of Kitchener staff made a visit to the neighbourhood for a chance to stand in the rain with us!

Wouldn’t it be amazing if this chalkboard became a permanent fixture somewhere in the neighbourhood? Or, even several chalkboards that could be community notice boards…. if we had more, where would you put them?

Because really, who can resist the opportunity to write on a big chalkboard!?!?
