A brief recap from the Kitchener City Council meeting on Monday April 16.
After seven delegations opposing the Breithaupt Block Phase 3 Official Plan Amendment & Zone Change request, questions of Perimeter Development and City of Kitchener Planning staff, Council voted to defer the final decision to the June 25th Council meeting. The vote was 7-3.
Delegations were made by four Mount Hope residents and three additional Kitchener residents who live outside the neighbourhood but felt strongly opposed to Council approving the request as is.
Between now and June 25, there may be opportunity for further dialogue with Planning staff, Perimeter Development and residents. There are no concrete plans and further notice will be posted here, as always.
Here is The Record Article about the deferral: Decision on Breithaupt tower deferred until June

Well done for voicing your concerns about this development. It was a betrayal of council and city staff to ignore the PARTS plan.
